If you are ill or are taking antibiotics, it is advisable that you postpone your medical check up appointment about a week after you have completed the medication and recovered. This will ensure that abnormalities due to the temporary conditions do not mask the “real” abnormalities we are looking for.
For Ladies, it is advisable to book your appointment between one week after the end of menstruation and one week before the start of the next menstruation cycle.
DOING YOUR MEDICAL CHECK UP
Please abstain from food and beverages starting 10 hours before your scheduled appointment time. However, you can have plain water during this fasting period. Please note that if you intend to go for ultrasound liver during the screening, you will need to continue fasting until the ultrasound is done.
Collection of urine and stool specimens are required for the medical check up. Sample bottles will be given to you on the day of the screening. However, you may collect your stool sample (about 2 teaspoons) 1 day before or on the morning of your appointment and put it into a small and clean air-tight plastic container (about the size of your palm).
ON THE DAY
Please prepare the necessary documents (such as identification card and passport) for verification upon registration.
Please bring along your past medical reports, X-ray films and medications (if any).
The health screening will take one full day, where the results will be given in the afternoon after the medical check up results are ready. In the event that you are unable to stay in the afternoon, we can always arrange a review for you on another day with the doctor.
As we will be testing your vision, please bring along your glasses (if any). For those wearing contact lenses, you are advised removed them if you are going for the tonometry testing (for glaucoma).
If you are planning to undergo the Treadmill Exercise Stress Test, do bring along a set of sports attire, including a comfortable pair of sports shoes.
