Dr. Lim Min Yu, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and an esteemed Fertility Specialist, brings to his practice over a decade of expertise in assisted reproductive techniques, with a focus on gynae-laparoscopic surgery and pregnancy. Recognised for his role in helping couples achieve their dreams of having a family, he holds accreditation as an IVF Specialist by the Singapore Ministry of Health.

A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Dr. Lim completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) in Scotland. With a dedication of more than 12 years to NHS Scotland from 1998 to 2010, he returned to Singapore. Upon his return, he assumed the role of Consultant and Assistant Professor at the Department of O&G in the National University Hospital (NUH). In 2018, he earned a Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).

Engaged in forefront research in reproductive medicine, Dr. Lim is a co-investigator in three ongoing studies focusing on preimplantation genetic screening, time-lapse monitoring for embryo selection, and correlation of chromosome copy number analysis. These studies main objectives are to enhance IVF success rates and reduce miscarriage rates.

He has been active as a speaker, receiving invitations to present at numerous meetings since 2012. His latest presentation in 2023, titled “Elective Egg Freezing: Evidence, Guidelines, and Controversies,” exemplifies his ongoing commitment to sharing insights in the field.

In addition to his speaking engagements, he has contributed to the literature by publishing book chapters. Notable titles include “Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease” and “Female Infertility,” both featured in the book titled “Integrated Approach to Obstetrics and Gynaecology.” Other contributions include multiple poster presentations, abstracts, peer reviewed papers and reviewed articles.

Currently serving as a Visiting Consultant at NUH, Dr. Lim held pivotal leadership positions, including President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore and Chairperson of RCOG’s Singapore International Representative Committee. Additionally, he used to chair the O&G Specialty Interest Group at Gleneagles Hospital.

With a consultative approach, Dr. Lim collaborates closely with patients to tailor personalised plans for fertility and pregnancy that align with their specific needs. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Dr. Lim Min Yu ensures effective communication throughout the consultation process.
