First Visit For Fertility Consultation

Taking the first step on your fertility or reproductive health journey can feel overwhelming — but you’re not alone. At Sincere Medical Specialist Center, we’re here to guide you with compassion, expertise, and support from the moment you walk through our doors.

Here’s what to expect and how you can prepare for your first consultation:

How Long Will It Take?

Your first visit typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your medical history and concerns. This is a comprehensive session with one of our experienced specialists to discuss your goals, review any past medical information, and start planning the next steps.

What We’ll Talk About

To personalise your care, your doctor may ask:

  • How long you’ve been trying to conceive (if applicable)
  • Any menstrual or hormonal irregularities
  • Past pregnancies or miscarriages
  • Sexual health concerns
  • Any ongoing medical conditions or treatments
  • Lifestyle habits that may affect your reproductive health

Our approach is confidential, respectful, and always tailored to your needs.

What to Bring

To ensure a smooth and productive consultation, please bring:

  • Your NRIC/Passport
  • Marriage Certificate (for couples undergoing fertility treatment)
  • Past medical records or lab results (e.g., hormone levels, semen analysis, imaging scans)
  • A list of any current medications

Will I Need Any Tests?

Your doctor may recommend initial screening tests to better understand your reproductive health. These could include:

  • Blood tests (to check hormones, ovulation, and general health)
  • Pelvic ultrasound (to examine the uterus and ovaries)
  • Pap smear (if not done recently)
  • Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test (to assess egg reserve)

For male partners, a semen analysis may also be arranged. We’ll guide you through everything.

Coming as a Couple

We strongly encourage couples to attend together, especially for fertility-related visits. Having both partners present helps us provide a more complete assessment and develop a personalised plan as a team.

For Overseas Patients

If you’re visiting from overseas, we recommend staying in Singapore for 5-7 working days to complete assessments and testing. Results will be shared promptly, and follow-up consultations can be arranged in person or virtually.

What Happens After the First Visit?

Once your test results are ready, your doctor will review them with you in detail during a follow-up appointment. From there, we’ll discuss treatment options, timelines, and next steps — always at your pace.

We’re Here for You

From your first visit to your final follow-up, our team is here to support you with expert care and warm, respectful service. If you have any questions before your appointment, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Let us walk with you, every step of the way.
